Stephenson Island, Marinette

Join Students from UW-Stevens Point, UW-Whitewater, UW-Milwaukee, UW- Green Bay, and UW-Waukesha on a Guided Tour of The Menominee Cultural Sites That Could Be Destroyed by the Proposed Back 40 Mine. Led by Protectors of the Menominee River Organizers, and Members of the Menominee Tribe, Tony Brown and Guy Reiter (Anahkwet). The Event Is Free and Open to the Public.

We will be meeting at Stephenson Island in Marinette, WI at 10:00am on both Saturday, April 14th and Saturday, April 21st. This is a great chance to see the sites that could be directly impacted by the mine and meet some of the leading organizers from the resistance movement.

This event is being hosted by the Protectors the Menominee River and the Gaia Coalition Network, and is sponsored by a number of student and community organizations. If you’re interested in getting more involved, check us out on Facebook or join the coalition at http://jointherivercoalition.org/.
